The chair has undergone careful conservative restoration and today presents itself in excellent condition, preserving the authentic spirit of the original piece. Shells and metals: the black lacquered shells are in perfect condition, intact and free of structural defects. The aluminum parts are excellent, with only very slight signs of use consistent with the object’s history. Original leather of the era: the upholstery in fine cognac leather is the original from the period and has been preserved very well. It presents in one piece and with a charming “lived-in” patina that only time can confer, showing only light and natural signs of use that enhance its authenticity. Authenticity: originality and dating to the 1970s are evidenced both by the label “Herman Miller made by ICF” preserved under the frame, and by the number 670/B embossed on the aluminum base’s casting, a technical detail identifying the original foundry molds of the era. The constructive details are further testimony to the high quality and originality of this ICF/Herman Miller piece.
