Known for his bold use of innovative techniques, Matisse continued to push artistic boundaries well into his career. Matisse’s works are highly sought after on the art market and frequently fetch record sums at auctions. Some notable examples include: 'Les coucous, tapis bleu et rose' (1911), sold for 80.8 million dollars at auction, or 'Nu dans le dos' (series of back sculptures), of which a cast brought in 48.8 million dollars. These figures place Matisse among the most collected modern artists, alongside Claude Monet and Joan Miró. The timeless appeal resonates with art lovers who value the fusion of simplicity and elegance. The influence of Henri Matisse extends beyond the world of visual arts and inspires fashion, interior design, and contemporary design.
