Henk Dekker (1897-1974) - Zeegezicht

This concerns a lovely small work by Henk Dekker 1897-1974. Oil paint on artist's board and it is in an excellent condition. The painting is signed and dated 1934. A wonderful piece with a beautiful gallery frame. Henk Dekker Gouda 1897 - 1974 The Hague Henk Dekker (Gouda, 1897 – 1960) was largely self-taught as a painter, although he is said to have received guidance from H.J. van Weele. He specialized in seascapes: marine scenes with or without ships. Dekker made numerous voyages aboard various ships and worked not only along the Dutch coast, but also in France, Belgium, Sweden, England, Spain and Morocco. His work is characterized by a realistic depiction of the sea and sky, with particular attention to the changing light and atmospheric effects over the water.
