A monograph devoted to the photographic work of Béatrice Helg, a Swiss artist whose compositions feature objects, masks, and geometric structures in carefully crafted spaces. The book notably includes an essay by Jean-Luc Daval titled “Rendre visible,” in which the critic highlights the pictorial dimension of these photographs, based on the relationships between light, matter, and appearances. Color photographic illustrations, including “Ballade aux masques II,” a full-page Polaroid reproduction. An interesting publication dedicated to a form of visual photography that explores the boundaries between photography, painting, and sculpture. Good copy, cover slightly rubbed.
