Set of 2 vintage Gispen 1407 armchairs – original Ploeg fabric Beautiful original set of two Gispen 1407 armchairs, a Dutch design classic from the 1950s. The design is by Wim Rietveld and André Cordemeyer and was introduced in 1954. The 1407 was presented in the same year at the Milan Triennale and awarded a gold medal. The offered pieces still feature the original dark blue Ploeg fabric, which gives the chairs an authentic vintage look. The steel frames and characteristic bakelite armrests are entirely original. Both chairs are in good, original condition. One chair has some discoloration of the fabric, clearly visible in the photos. The Gispen 1407 armchair is not only a piece of furniture but also a representation of the functional and aesthetic values of mid-century modern design. A beautiful authentic set for fans of Dutch mid-century design or Gispen furniture.
