GIG - Galaxy Twinvader - 1981 Tabletop Electronic Game...

Galaxy Twinvader GiG / Actronics, 1981, tabletop electronic video game from the early eighties, preserved with its original box and the molded polystyrene packing elements. The console is the best-preserved part of the set and, above all, it is perfectly functional. It has been tested across its functions: controls and joystick respond correctly, the display is bright, sharp and easy to read, and the sound section also delivers a strong, clear output. Photographs of the powered device allow you to appreciate its operation directly. Another very positive detail is the battery compartment, which is clean and shows no evident signs of oxidation or corrosion of the contacts, a feature far from marginal in an electronic game of over forty years. The case is intact and well-kept, with the control panel, lettering and silkscreens clearly legible. The original light plastic has over time assumed a uniform yellow-cream tone, due to the natural yellowing of the material. This is a noticeable but regular color change that does not compromise the overall appearance of the unit. The original GiG / Galaxy Twinvader box is also present. The packaging is the most lived-in part of the lot and clearly bears the marks of many years: it shows tears, abrasions, creases, wear to the edges and flaps, and several pieces of adhesive tape applied by previous owners, even as reinforcement. Despite these conditions, it retains the original graphics and inscriptions and is an important complement to the specimen. Also present are the original molded polystyrene pieces, still in overall good condition considering the fragility and age of the material. They show normal wear, some tears and old applications of adhesive tape, but are still clearly recognizable and usable for proper housing of the console. Overall this is a very pleasant specimen: the box has aged, while the machine has been considerably better preserved. The simultaneous presence of the original packaging and the original polystyrene, coupled with the good maintenance of the console, the clean battery compartment and, above all, the perfect functionality, with excellent display and sound performance, constitutes the strong point of the lot. An interesting example of early eighties ludic electronics, particularly suitable for a collection of vintage video games and retro gaming.
