Brouwer primarily chooses Dutch landscapes, executed in oil on canvas. His technique combines realism with impressionism; as a result, the viewer is immediately brought to the Dutch countryside and can almost feel and smell the damp, fresh Dutch air, and perceive the soft pastel tones of nature.
