The author with this work, and with other works of equal merit, has so well exposed the new medical doctrine of Hahnemann (founder of Homoeopathy), illustrated it with indisputable facts, with sound reasoning demonstrating the reasonableness of its fundamental principles, and of the practice at the bedside of the sick, that one can touch with one’s hands the truth, the clarity, the usefulness, the ease, without sparing studies and experiments. He may be called the apologist par excellence of homeopathy, impartial, just, eloquent more than anyone else. Dr. Gerard Joseph Marie Bigel (1764-1832) born in France, studied at the École de Médecine of Strasbourg, learned about and adopted the new curative method during a trip in Germany in the company of Grand Duke Constantine of Russia. Subsequently he practiced homeopathy in Saint Petersburg and in Warsaw where in 1827
