Property of Charles Gay, Savannah, GA Description: George III Mantle Clock, James Stewart, London, Late 18th Century, the arched dial signed James Stewart, London, with two train movement and strike dial within a case with glazed front and rear doors, the front inset with gilt-metal spandrels, the top surmounted by four finials and a central figural group of putti (probably added later), the whole raised on gilt-metal ogee bracket feet; the back of the works with etched date Nov. 10, 1790.Measurements: Height: 22 3/4 in. x Width: 12 1/8 in. x Depth: 7 1/2 in.
