La Guerre de Vendée 1793-1796 Souvenirs de la Comtesse de la Bouëre en 1 volume in-8 broché, v-363 pages - Nice copy. Her husband, Louis-Armand-Modeste Gazeau, count of La Bouëre, was himself engaged in the army of Anjou. A first-hand testimony The book is valuable because it is not a story written long after the events from archives: they are memories of a woman who lived through the war, then published by her daughter-in-law. The first edition of 1890 is presented as "unpublished memoirs", with a preface by Charles-Albert Costa de Beauregard. The story covers the period 1793-1796, from the insurrection to the last battles of Stofflet. It gives an important place to daily life, the populations of the Mauges and the experience of women during the war, in addition to military operations.
