He is a contemporary creator whose work explores the intersection between geek culture and the vibrant aesthetics of today’s pop art. Through this artistic alter ego, the artist develops a visual universe full of chromatic energy, where icons of popular culture are reinterpreted through a dynamic and contemporary pictorial language. The Friki-Pop concept arises from the fusion of two cultural worlds that today define much of the collective imagination: on one side the “geek” universe — related to video games, cinema, comics, anime, science fiction and sports — and on the other the visual language of pop art, characterized by its graphic impact, saturated colors and its ability to transform popular images into contemporary art. In his works, emblematic characters and symbols of global culture appear reinterpreted through compositions with strong visual impact, dominated by intense color palettes and electric contrasts. Vibrant colors, expressive strokes and a highly defined graphic aesthetic turn these figures into powerful images capable of connecting with the cultural memory of several generations. More than simple representations, Pérez Rolo’s works under the Friki-Pop concept function as a celebration of contemporary geek culture, understood today as one of the most influential engines of entertainment and global visual culture. The artist transforms that popular iconography into contemporary art, creating pieces that combine nostalgia, visual energy and a strong aesthetic identity. The result is a recognizable, colorful and dynamic artistic language that places his work at the crossroads between contemporary pop art, digital culture and the iconography of global popular culture. This work presents a bold reinterpretation of the iconic Captain America, using the morphology of a LEGO figure as the structural canvas. The piece stands out for its vibrant color palette and a impasto technique that adds a tactile and dynamic texture, moving away from the industrial rigidity of the original toy. Through energetic brushstrokes and deliberate "drip" paint splashes, the artist achieves a poetic contrast between the playful nature of the object and the emotional intensity of abstract art. The background, divided into tonal blocks of cyan blue and warm orange, not only reinforces the character’s three-dimensionality but also symbolizes the duality between duty and humanity of the hero, turning a mass-culture symbol into a contemporary art piece of great visual impact."
