Fraraccio Fraraccio – Grande Sfilato di Frosolone 25 cm –...

Fraraccio – Grand Sfilato of Frosolone 25 cm – white ABS and 420 INOX steel – Italy Category Catawiki Traditional folding knives / Italian artisanal knifemaking Description Up for auction is this fascinating and scenographic Fraraccio Sfilato, a faithful modern interpretation of one of the most iconic models from the tradition of Frosolone knife-making, historically the Italian capital of knifemaking. With a total length of 25 cm and a blade of 11 cm, this knife represents the generous dimensions that made the Sfilato famous among peasants, breeders, and enthusiasts of traditional knife-making in Central-Southern Italy. The peculiarity of this specimen is its modern white ABS handle, a practical and functional solution that offers a comfortable grip and is immediately recognizable even during outdoor use. A contemporary reinterpretation that nevertheless preserves the spirit and characteristics of the traditional Sfilato of Frosolone. In addition to its traditional use in daily activities, this knife was often at hand also in convivial moments, used at table for slicing cold cuts, cheeses, and other products typical of the local tradition. The blade is made of 420 INOX steel, a material appreciated for its corrosion resistance, easy maintenance, and reliability in everyday use. Produced in the early 2000s by the historic Fraraccio cutlery, this knife combines artisanal tradition and modern practicality, making it particularly interesting for both collectors and enthusiasts of Italian regional knives.
