Frank Duveneck (American, 1848-1919) monumental portrait titled "The Hunchback" in oil on canvas, executed in the Munich School style. The painted monogram FD is followed by the date 1873 in the upper left corner. The verso features several identifying labels and inscriptions. Exhibition history labels list the 1915 Panama-Pacific Expo (Duveneck Room 3908) and the Cincinnati Art Museum 1936 exhibition of Duveneck's work. The stretcher is stenciled with the numbers NY-929 and 354. Housed in an ornate 19th-century gilded composition frame with foliate and acorn motifs. Sight size: 16.5"W x 20.25"H.
