Pair of iconic jugs, an example of collectible Italian design, of museum-worthy significance, in brown glazed stoneware from the TR 13 series, designed by Ambrogio Pozzi for Franco Pozzi, Gallarate and presented at the XIII Triennale di Milano in 1964 and awarded the Palladio Prize for industrial design in Vicenza in the same year. These objects entered the history of Italian design for their synthesis of function and sculpture; a similar specimen is kept in the MIDeC – International Museum of Ceramic Design collection and is included in the General Catalog of Italian Cultural Heritage of the Ministry of Culture. On the bottom is the original mark “Gresline – Ceramica Franco Pozzi Gallarate S.p.A. – Italia” (photo of the mark attached), corresponding to production from the mid-1960s. In one jug the mark is intact, while on the other it is faded but still recognizable.
