Francioni Mastromarino (1978) - Sculpture

Francioni & Mastromarino – “We Should All Be Feminists” Original sculpture in geomalta and rice husk | Unique piece numbered 8 | 2025 Throughout their career Francioni Mastromarino have taken part in prestigious international exhibitions, including: “Motivations of the Soul” in Pontedera “Looking for Monnalisa,” where they presented a monumental sculpture: the world's largest portrait of Leonardo da Vinci – over 5 meters tall and about 4 meters in diameter – today acquired by Pavia and officially recognized as a city monument. The sculpture We Should All Be Feminists presented in this lot is the declaration of Francioni Mastromarino’s artistic research. The carved face, with elegant and modern features, blends harmoniously with a hairstyle that evokes the grandeur of classical eras. Among the hair, a stylized vulva reveals itself as a symbolic diadem, highlighting the generative and spiritual strength of the feminine. A distinctive element of their poetics, merging aesthetics and message with refined audacity. A title that is a manifesto We Should All Be Feminists is an invitation, an affirmation, a warning. In a context still permeated by patriarchal archetypes, the work becomes a tool for reflection on the strength, courage, and complexity of feminine identity. The sculpture thus becomes a symbol of a new matriarchy: evolved, conscious, powerful. Woman, life, freedom. Francioni Mastromarino’s Venuses are rebellious poets, poets of sin!
