Frame - Wood

Italian early 1900s frame in Baroque taste, with a rich outer band of tracery, leaves and volutes. The raised decoration, animated by brown shadows, is connected to the opening by a broad gilded band and a slim inner frieze. The wooden construction with preparation and, where present, plaster ornamentation is documented by photographs of the front and details. Empty proposed, the frame can be destined for a new pairing with a work compatible with its opening. Period: Early 20th century. Country of origin: Italy. Materials: wood and plaster, gilded finish. External dimensions: about 55 × 65 cm, height × width. Internal opening: about 40 × 50 cm, height × width. Depth: about 6 cm. Sold empty, without painting, glass or mirror. Generally good condition, with patina, small abrasions and signs of finish wear visible in the details. The back preserves marks of previous fittings and surface wear. Dedicated protective packaging, with special attention to edges and corners.
