The piece is made with the ancient technique of mecca gilding on silver leaf: the silver leaf applied on bole ground is coated with the 'mecca' varnish, which gives it a warm and characteristic golden tone with bright and deep reliefs. Engraved details and Style Perimeter profile: Outer edge richly carved with a continuous motif of beading/stylized ovals. Central band: Decorated at the four cardinal points (top, base, and sides) with elaborate reliefs of floral motifs and festoons applied and carved. Inner edge: Finished with a delicate beaded profile (diamond/pierce-like points) that frames the central space.
