Fr. 2402. 1928 $20 Gold Certificate. PMG Gem Uncirculated 65 EPQ.

Fr. 2402. 1928 $20 Gold Certificate. PMG Gem Uncirculated 65 EPQ. Redeemable at one time for roughly an ounce of gold in the form of a single $20 Double Eagle or a similar assortment of Pre-33 gold coins. This note by contrast was likely never exchanged for a single coin, but stands distinct against its fellow survivors owing to the grade assigned by PMG. Burdened with a radiant yellow-gold Treasury overprint that comes framed by even knife-like margins and no shortage of engraved detail, bidders have here for their consideration a note that has rightly earned its laurels. Assigned a grade of Gem Uncirculated 65 EPQ by PMG, this example offers the rich color and detail that one would rightly expect of the grade assigned along with an inherent level of originality that's seldom ever matched by even those that avoided time in commercial channels. Estimate: $2,000 - $3,000. Click here for certification details from PMG.
