Rare Fluorescent Spinel Crystal on Quartz Matrix – Badakhshan, Afghanistan – 139 g Offering here is a remarkable natural fluorescent Spinel crystal specimen from the Badakhshan mines of Afghanistan, weighing approximately 139 grams and measuring 62 × 55 × 32 mm. The specimen features a prominent naturally terminated purple Spinel crystal, aesthetically positioned on a contrasting quartz-rich matrix. The crystal has an attractive natural purple colour and displays a distinctive crystal form, making it particularly appealing as a collector's specimen. Under UV illumination, the crystal shows a striking fluorescence and colour change from purple toward reddish tones, adding an additional dimension to the specimen. The combination of its natural termination, purple colour, fluorescence and matrix setting makes this an unusual and highly collectible mineral specimen.
