全部拍賣 / Music & Musical Instruments / FERRERO (Carlo). — The Five Senses of Eros. - Lot 95
FERRERO (Carlo). — The Five Senses of Eros. Paris, Solar / France Loisirs, [circa 1985]. Large quarto, publisher’s hardcover with an illustrated dust jacket in black and gold. A major iconographic anthology devoted to eroticism through the five senses, compiled by Carlo Ferrero from his collection of erotic texts, images, and objects. The book examines, in turn, sight, hearing, smell, taste, and touch, combining literary texts, historical documents, and a wealth of illustrations. It thus traces the various representations of desire and sensuality throughout the centuries. Numerous black-and-white and color illustrations: old photographs, postcards, lithographs, engravings, drawings, caricatures, and erotic documents, including several rare or seldom-reproduced pieces. Notably featuring works or illustrations by Giorgio Baffo, André Prévôt, Margit Gaál, and Paul Verlaine, as well as numerous anonymous documents from the 19th and 20th centuries. Beautiful layout, with numerous full-page reproductions. ISBN 2-263-01295-8. Good copy. Interior is in good condition. Dust jacket preserved, showing some scuffs, scratches, small tears, and wear on the caps and edges.
