全部拍賣 / Lighting / Fase - Luis Pérez de la Oliva - Table lamp - Pendulum - Steel, Wood, Glass
The Phase Pendant model 1st series lamp (no ring on the diffuser of the glass block, steel pin, black switch and no 'Fase' inscription on the plastic bottom) is an emblematic piece of Spanish industrial design, designed by Industrias Fase, a company founded in 1964 in Torrejón de Ardoz, Madrid, by visionary Luis Pérez de la Oliva and the artisan turner Pedro Martín García. This lamp, coming from the early collections of the 1960s, embodies the very essence of the brand: a harmonious marriage between practicality, modern aesthetics, and noble materials. Its distinctive design, with a 360-degree revolving base and an articulated shade by a hinge that allows total freedom of movement, testifies to Fase's technical innovation, which aimed to create lamps as practical as they were sophisticated. Its form and lightness of style give this lamp an engaging presence, ideal for highlighting a refined desk or a contemporary interior not very common on the market. Founded in 1964, Industrias Fase established itself as a reference point of Spanish design in the 1960s and 1970s, exporting its creations to over 32 countries, from the United States to Japan via France. Initially intended to equip government offices under the Franco regime, Fase lamps transcended their utilitarian function to become icons of modernism. Inspired by Italian design and the principles of Bauhaus, while simultaneously incorporating a uniquely Spanish touch (through the use of noble woods and steel), they marked the history of lighting. After the company closed in the 1990s, Fase lamps became coveted collectible objects, sought after by vintage design enthusiasts, interior designers, and collectors. The Pendolo model is a masterpiece of craftsmanship. Its solid walnut trunk, expertly sanded, offers a stylish and elegant stable base. The chrome-plated steel arm supports the swiveling shade. This lamp retains all its original elements, including the white cord (1st series) with the Fase inscription, the screw, the central metal bolt, the ring, and the opal glass diffuser, which softens the light for a warm and not glaring atmosphere. The counterweight mechanism allows fluid adjustment of the arm height (up to 75 cm), making this lamp ideal for an office or a living room in a home. Every detail, from the quality of the chrome plating to the precision of the assembly, reflects Fase's artisanal excellence. Fase lamps, and in particular the Pendolo model, have acquired cultural icon status. Their futuristic aesthetics, reminiscent of spaceships or 1960s stage sets, have made them indispensable in period television series and films, such as Velvet, Amar en tiempos revueltos, and even international productions like Mad Men. Their presence in exhibitions, such as the Museo Caja Granada in 2023, and their popularity among retro design enthusiasts confirm their place in collective imagination as cult objects. Its authenticity, confirmed by the brand « FASE – modelos patentados. MADRID – ESPAÑA » engraved on the plug, and its rarity make it a cultural and aesthetic investment. - Photos are an integral part of the listing. The lamp shows minimal signs of wear. - Professionally packaged in a double box to increase volume. The increase in volume and weight results in higher shipping costs. The diffuser and counterweight will be packed in separate boxes. - Insured and trackable shipping. - Customs duties and any other charges are the buyer’s responsibility. - I do not ship to the USA or to countries affected by armed conflicts.
