全部拍賣 / Ethnographic / Exquisite Oceanic Teal Jasper - Microcrystalline Quartz...
Elegant sculpture in polychrome jasper with marine and earthy tones. — Jasper is a microcrystalline variety of quartz, a finely granular and opaque sedimentary or volcanic rock. Its chemical composition is predominantly SiO₂. The sample under examination presents a dense massive structure, typical of jasper, which lends itself exceptionally to polishing. Its geological formation is linked to silica precipitation processes in marine or lacustrine environments, with subsequent inclusions of metallic oxides that confer the variegated color range and pronounced zoning. This piece stands out for its exceptional chromia, dominated by deep shades of ocean green and mint green, elegantly intersected by veins and bands in terracotta and cream white. The mirror finish enhances the depth of colors and the complexity of the inclusions, revealing the almost painterly nature of its matrix. The traces of hematite or other iron oxides are responsible for the warm and earthy tones, while silicates such as celadonite or chlorite can contribute blue-green nuances, creating a striking contrast between the color masses. The origin of the piece is Madagascar, an island renowned for the extraction of high-quality ornamental minerals. Deposits of Malagasy jasper are known for their wide range of colors and patterns, the result of complex geochemical interactions that occurred millions of years ago. The locality’s specificity gives jasper a distinctive geological signature, making it particularly valued in the international collecting market. Aesthetically, the piece is configured as a natural polished sculpture, with a slender and sinuous form that evokes fluid movements. The choice of free-form processing and polishing maximizes the visual impact of the internal veins and the color palette, transforming the mineral into a work of art. The significant dimensions and substantial weight make it a highly presence-filled element, capable of attracting attention and enriching any environment. The condition is excellent, with the surface impeccably polished, free of chips or significant defects that could compromise its aesthetic integrity. The craftsmanship has respected the stone’s natural beauty, emphasizing its intrinsic qualities without altering its geological purity. The specimen does not require additional supports, being stably self-supporting and ready for display. This Malagasy jasper represents an opportunity for collectors seeking unique specimens for their aesthetics and provenance. The combination of rare coloration and excellent workmanship places it above ordinary display specimens, qualifying it as a precious collectible piece, ideal for enriching a display case of elite minerals or as a sophisticated interior design element for interiors that appreciate the integration of art and nature."} } The JSON contains only translated_text key.
