Excepcional juego de tocador Art Déco francés en vidrio degradado amatista

Magnificent and elegant vintage Art Deco French vanity set, made circa 1925–1930 in extraordinarily beautiful art glass. Attributed to Baccarat by its stylistic characteristics; the purity of its lines, the harmony of its proportions, and the balance of its forms render this ensemble a superb exponent of French decorative glass from the interwar period. Vanity sets of this quality occupied a prominent place on vanities and dressers in the homes of the most distinguished during the 1920s and 1930s, symbols of elegance and refinement. The set comprises eight pieces with a delicate chromatic gradient that shifts from a deep amethyst tone to a delicate transparent base, and combined with the transparency and luminosity of the crystal, creates an attractive play of light and reflections that enhances the sophistication of the ensemble. All pieces have been conceived in a single aesthetic language of geometric inspiration, characteristic of genuine Art Deco: - Four bottle vials with their corresponding faceted glass stoppers that impart an elegant prism-like effect. - An elegant perfume atomizer with an original metal mount marked "Made in France" and decorated with a relief monogram formed by a letter "B" that encloses the letters "R" and "L". This monogram may correspond to the mount manufacturer or to a French supplier of perfumery accessories, constituting an interesting period detail that reinforces the French origin of the set. - A cylindrical container (pillowy) which originally likely carried a cap. - Two trays of different formats. Its excellent presence, uniform color, the conservation of the vast majority of its original elements, and the elegance of its design make this set a highly impactful decorative piece and a magnificent testament to French decorative arts of the first third of the 20th century. Ideal for collectors, interior designers, or lovers of art glass and Art Deco decorative arts. CONDITION: The set is presented in generally good condition for its age, retaining a magnificent presence and the inherent appeal of original pieces from this period. As with a set about a century old that has been enjoyed with coquettish use, it shows the usual signs of the passage of time compatible with its age. Nevertheless, it maintains extraordinary aesthetic and collectible value, constituting a superb display piece for a cabinet or vanity. • Two of the bottles show small chippings on the mouth edge. • One of the stoppers remains attached to the neck of the bottle, probably due to hardening of old perfume residues or an ancient resin. No attempt has been made to remove it to preserve the integrity of the piece. • The main tray shows a chip on one of its edges. • The small tray shows a chip on one of its edges. • The atomizer retains its stylized silhouette and the attractive patina of the original fabric, which harmonizes perfectly with the degraded glass. The metal mount of the atomizer retains its original finish, showing a light patina and superficial wear compatible with its age. The inner rubber pear is crystallized, a common and inevitable phenomenon in French atomizers from the 1920s and 1930s, as natural rubber hardens and loses elasticity over time. It would be a technically simple restoration; however, as it is an item of historical interest, I have preferred to keep it in its original state to preserve its authenticity. ** Please examine carefully the detail photographs, which are an integral part of the description and allow appreciation of both the qualities of the set and the small defects described as a result of its use and age. ** ** The indicated measurements correspond to the packaging required to guarantee safe and perfectly protected transport, and not to the exact dimensions of the set. **
