Ethiopian Crystal Opal – an exceptional natural specimen...

This impressive Crystal-Opal natural specimen from Ethiopia captivates with its exceptional transparency, the warm, lightly honey-green to olive-yellow base color, and a particularly vivid play-of-color. Within the transparent to translucent opal body unfolds a fascinating fire of color in intense green, bright blue, vibrant orange, yellow and fiery red, which, depending on the light incidence and viewing angle, continuously reveals new color zones. Particularly impressive are the large orange-red color flashes in the lower and middle areas, interwoven with intense green and individual electric blues, giving the piece extraordinary optical depth. The natural rough form with its characteristic irregular outer contour and the clearly preserved areas of the matrix or host rock underscore the original character of this specimen. At the same time, selected areas have been carefully smoothed and polished, making the underlying opal structure stand out more clearly and causing the play of color to seem to glow from inside the stone. Through the combination of transparent opal substance, natural matrix, pronounced depth, and an extraordinarily intense play of color, this is an extremely decorative and characterful collectible piece for lovers of high-quality Welo- and Crystal-Opals. A particularly fascinating natural piece that reveals its effect especially under targeted lighting and, with every change of viewing angle, presents a different color play—from rich neon green through turquoise and blue to spectacular fire colors in orange, yellow and red Stone: Crystal-Opal Weight: 141,55ct Size: 43x34x23,7mm Colour: Play of Color Treatment: None Origin: Ethiopia The pictures were taken with strong light and table lamps.
