It shows restorations. ㅤ Circle and artistic influence: Composition stylistically related to the Ecce Homo tradition developed by Italian painting of the 17th and 18th centuries. It shows affinities with Guido Reni and Carlo Dolci’s devotional language, especially in the expression of contained suffering, the soft modeling of flesh tones, and the use of concentrated lighting. The representation preserves elements of Baroque Christological iconography, aimed at fostering religious contemplation. ㅤ Devotional painting depicting Jesus Christ crowned with thorns during His Passion, following the traditional Ecce Homo iconography. ㅤ Christ is shown in half-figure, with gaze raised to heaven and an expression that combines physical suffering, resignation, and spirituality. His head, slightly inclined, bears the crown of thorns, while the face shows delicate signs of the Passion. ㅤ The figure wears a reddish mantle draped over the shoulders, whose folds add depth to the composition. His hands hold a staff, an iconographic element related to the scorns Christ endured during His crown of thorns. ㅤ The color palette concentrates in reddish tones, ochres, and warm browns. The neutral background enhances the face and the expressiveness of the gaze, while the treatment of chiaroscuro reinforces the spiritual drama characteristic of Baroque painting. ㅤ This is a composition with strong symbolic content, linked to the European tradition of images intended for prayer and private contemplation. ㅤ The work is presented in a prominent Baroque-inspired gilded frame, enriched with abundant vegetal ornamentation in relief, volutes, and floral motifs. It incorporates a wide black mat and a fine inner gold moulding that accentuate the prominence of the figure and provide a presentation with great decorative presence. ㅤ Observations: The work may incur damage during transport even with proper packaging.
