全部拍賣 / Furniture, Design & Mirrors / Emile Joseph Nestor CARLIER (1849 - 1927) Vers 1930 - Sculpture
Impressive sculpture depicting a tambourine dancer, captured in a movement full of energy and grace, characteristic of the Art Deco aesthetic. This work is characteristic of the work of Émile Carlier, who stands out for the care given to anatomy, the elegance of the poses, and a remarkable pursuit of movement. Expertise certificate available on request. Through its resolutely decorative aesthetics and generous dimensions, this sculpture will bring a touch of modernity and elegance to your interior. The dancer still retains her original silver patina, particularly luminous, highlighted by a substantial geometric marble base in variegated veining. The patina shows some losses and nicks, natural witnesses of time, which do not in any way alter the elegance of this work and give it all the charm of its antiquity and its authenticity. The statue will be shipped in professional and eco-friendly packaging + Ad Valorem insurance (Exclusive use of eco-friendly and recyclable kraft tape) Emile Joseph Nestor CARLIER (1849 - 1927) Grand Prix of Amsterdam, 1883. Grand Prix of the Antwerp Exposition, 1885. Gold Medal of the 1889 Universal Exposition in Paris. Émile Joseph Nestor Carlier, known as Joseph Carlier, was a French sculptor born in Cambrai in 1849 and died in Paris in 1927. Trained at the École des beaux-arts de Paris under François Jouffroy and Henri Chapu, he regularly exhibited at the Salon from the 1870s. He was awarded on several occasions, notably at the Paris Universal Exposition of 1889. Carlier developed a essentially figurative oeuvre: portraits, allegories, mythological subjects, and female figures. His work is distinguished by the care given to anatomy, the elegance of the attitudes, and the search for movement. His compositions also circulated in decorative editions in bronze and other metal alloys at the end of the 19th century and the early 20th century.
