An elegant three-piece vintage desk set from the postwar boom era around 1960. The set was crafted by the renowned supplier MHN and combines high-quality onyx marble (calcite sinter) with elements in solid brass. The ensemble impresses with its timeless, minimalist form in the Mid-Century Modern style and consists of: 1. Compact letter stand / letter holder with two gracefully curved brass arches 2. Large tray / pen tray (fitted with the original golden quality seal “MHN Echt Marmor-Onyx”) 3. Matching letter opener with a brass blade and an ergonomic natural stone handle. The light natural stone displays a beautiful, subtle banding and veining in delicate cream and brown tones, giving every piece a one-of-a-kind character. Very good, well-maintained vintage condition. The onyx marble is overall in excellent condition. Only on the front edge of the tray is there a small, superficial chip (visible openly and clearly in a separate close-up photo). There are no cracks or breaks in the stone. The brass components possess a beautiful, authentic patina that gives the set its character.
