Two old-cut diamonds with a total weight of around 0.30 ct stand opposite each other in silver frames. An S-shape surrounds both stones and visually binds them together in such a way that you have the feeling of looking at an infinity sign. A narrow ring band breaks up towards the ring face in jagged curves and reveals stylistic elements of linear Art Nouveau. It is a variation on a particularly popular ring type from the turn of the century: It is a so-called "toi-et-moi" ring, a jewel that expresses the "you-and-me" of a romantic relationship through its two gemstones set side by side in equal value. The choice of stones was guided not only by aesthetic considerations, but also by content. For in the language of jewels, as common in the 19th century as the language of flowers, the diamond stood for eternity as an indestructible mineral according to legend. The ring thus conveys a message that today can only be deciphered by insiders. We discovered the ring in Madrid, but it was probably made in Germany.
