Elegant Earrings of Onyx & Old European Cut Diamonds in Gold & Platinum

Black and white, shine and shadow, day and night: these contrasts accompany us through every era of jewellery history. This colourfulness was particularly popular in Art Deco, but even the classicism of the Empire had a weakness for the splendour of non-colours. Now here, this classic of jewellery history has inspired a whole new pair of earrings. Because every now and then, in our wanderings through antique stores, auction houses and flea markets, we find fragments or parts of antique jewellery that don't seem wearable as is, but that we can't pass by. We hand these objects over to our goldsmith. The goldsmith is always very happy about the small finds, because he can give free rein to his imagination and give them new life. In the case of these earrings, we have used historic diamonds in their original platinum settings for a new creation. The precious gemstones, with a total weight of about 0.80 ct, were cut in the 1920s and have been preserved in their platinum settings typical of the period. Below them are moveable suspended pampels of shiny black onyx. With renewed ear wires of yellow gold, the precious gemstones can be worn as earrings. The result is a wonderful ear jewellery that combines not only black and white but also old and new.
