Elegant Déco Platinum Ring with Emerald & Diamonds, c. 1930

The moon shines brightly in the cloudless sky above the Fitzgeralds' garden. The gramophone plays the latest hits from Broadway, and elegant young women in long, slender dresses and men in black tuxedos stand together, dancing, laughing and sipping their cocktails. Waiters are bringing perfectly formed small pieces of Lobster Thermidor as a snack, pouring frosted champagne from the new fridges, and the countless stars over the New York countryside are twinkling, reflected in the pond, next to the electric lanterns and lanterns of the festive decorations. The hour after midnight is exuberant, carefree and people revel in abundance. This superb ring made of platinum, emerald and diamonds has certainly witnessed several such garden parties. It is presented in a modern, dynamic design perfectly representative of the modern Déco style: A rectangular shield, studded all over with sparkling diamonds, surrounds a radiant emerald of an intense green hue. The emerald appears to be embedded in diamonds. The ring is given a special dynamic by the subtle staggering of the elements, which seems to lift the emerald upwards. The ring is a statement piece from around 1930, of high quality and in very good condition. It came to us from Hamburg and comes with a detailed appraisal from the German Gemstone Appraisal Society.
