Elegant Bar Brooch with Pearl & Diamonds in Platinum and Gold, 1920s

Today, it is hardly part of the repertoire of modern goldsmiths and jewelers – and yet the bar brooch was one of the most popular pieces of jewellery of the Belle Époque and Art Déco. Every lady's jewelry wardrobe contained such a pin. From daytime pieces in gold and set with pearls or colorful gemstones to luxurious diamond pins for the evening – the bar brooch took many elegant forms. This brooch belongs to this classic type of jewellery. It is crafted from platinum and fitted with a yellow gold pin. A beautiful saltwater pearl shimmers in the center of the brooch. Sixteen diamonds in historical cuts set white light accents. Filigree openwork makes the brooch attractive from all sides. The design with its lace-like bars, the design language and technical details such as the safety clasp suggest that the brooch was created in the United States. This beautiful piece of Art Déco jewellery came to us from London.
