全部拍賣 / Toys & Collectibles / Elastolin - Figure - Seltene Original Elastolin / Lineol...

Rare original Elastolin / Lineol - German Music Corps - WWII, among others (see pictures) 14 x soldiers etc. / rare figures Elastolin: mass figures were already produced around 1880 in Austria by the Vienna-based company Emil Pfeiffer, which became world-famous for the "loving and colorful painting" of its figures. Around 1900 production began in Germany. Similar to tin figures, it covered an enormous range of themes, but primarily consisted of military toy figures. Accessories such as vehicles were mostly made of tinplate; mixed forms existed, for example tin carriages with crew and horses made of composition. Since other manufacturers typically adhered to Hausser’s scale, the products were often compatible with each other. As many manufacturers did not specialize solely in war toys but also depicted organizations and leadership of the NS regime in their figures, resuming production after World War II in all occupied zones of Germany was difficult. Lineol up to 1945 The Lineol Aktiengesellschaft was founded in 1906 by Oskar Wilhelm Wiederholz in Brandenburg an der Havel. Since 1903 he had developed the necessary mass, which, in contrast to the mass used by Elastolin, also contains linseed oil and pine resin. Co-responsible for Lineol’s success was the Berlin artist Albert Caasmann, who since 1909 designed the figure models in wax. He became chief modeller in 1919 under Wiederholz and remained head of figure production until 1952. In the 1930s LINEOL AG employed 300 to 400 workers. A high level of detail in the figures was responsible for the rapid success of the figures. The animals of the Berlin Zoo served as models for the wildlife figures. Two famous examples from the animal figure production are the hippopotamus Knautschke and the gorilla “Bobby,” which Albert Caasmann immortalized in miniature. In addition to the mass figures, Lineol produced high-quality tin toys. The figures were available in different scales/sizes (from 17 cm to 4 cm), with the 7.5 cm size becoming established over the years. The Lineol mass figures are easily distinguished from the Hausser figures (brand Elastolin) by a rectangular base. Very nice collection of detailed figures. A must for every collector.
