EGYPTIAN GOLD SWIVEL RING WITH STEATITE SCARAB ENGRAVED WITH HIEROGLYPHIC

Middle Kingdom, ca. 2055 - 1790 BC. A gold swivel ring with a substantial round-section hoop, its terminals wrapped with tightly coiled wire. The steatite scarab is mounted on a transverse pin between the terminals, with a carved convex back and a flat underside engraved with a hieroglyphic inscription.
