全部拍賣 / Ancient Art / Egyptian cuff bracelet (asawir) — Cairo hallmarks — 96 g...
For sale: a beautiful, very heavy and solid traditional Egyptian bracelet (asawir) in Bedouin style. This authentic piece of jewelry is a splendid example of mid‑medieval North African silver craftsmanship and is in excellent vintage condition with a lovely, distinctive patina. The bracelet features three pure, consecutive official Egyptian hallmarks on the underside of the smooth edge. These stamps date the bracelet very precisely: - Silver content & Office: Hallmarked in Cairo for .800 silver (80% pure silver). - National symbol: The lotus flower (used between 1946 and 1966). - Date letter: The Arabic letter 'Noon', indicating the exact assay period 1951–1953. With a weight of no less than 96 grams, this is a very substantial "statement" piece that sits solidly and comfortably on the wrist. The design is characterized by a beautifully twisted braid in the center, flanked by tidy, polished edges. Specifications: - Origin: Egypt (hallmarked in Cairo) - Dating: 1951 - 1953 - Material: .800 silver (officially hallmarked) - Weight: 96.0 g (76.8 g net fineness) - Inner diameter (widest point): 6.5 cm - Opening / clearance: 3.0 cm - Suitable for wrist circumference: approx. 15.5 cm to 17.5 cm - Condition: Excellent vintage condition with light, age-appropriate wear and a beautiful authentic patina. Not flexible (solid quality). Please examine the photos carefully to form your own impression; the ruler and scale photos are an integral part of this description.
