The City That Holds the Song In The City That Holds the Song, Eve Lezcano builds an imaginary stage where architecture takes on human traits and figures extend into façades, towers, and rooftops. Two faces dominate the composition, integrated into a web of windows, arches, and overlapping planes. This continuity between body and city allows us to contemplate space as a place inhabited by gazes, memories, and presences. The composition unfolds vertically, from the steps in the foreground to the yellow disc suspended against the blue background. The string instruments in the lower-right area balance the weight of the buildings on the opposite side, while the birds introduce scale changes that accentuate the scene’s fabulist character.
