The glasses are made of clear crystal and feature an elaborate cut with a distinctive, faceted node on the stem. The broad gold rim gives them an especially noble look. Comparable glasses from Driburg Crystal are described as 24% lead crystal, hand-blown and hand-cut. Driburg Crystal GmbH was based in Bad Driburg, a town with centuries-long tradition in glass making and finishing. Historical records show the brand, among other things, for 1970; in 1975 a bankruptcy proceeding was opened for Driburg Crystal GmbH. Thus, the ensemble is a beautiful example of German crystal glass production in the post-war period or the early 1970s.
