Decorative tray - Italy - ceramic flowers

Vintage wand ornament with 3D ceramic flowers – wooden plaque with green velvet – Capodimonte style – circa 1960–1970 A particularly charming vintage wall ornament with richly detailed three-dimensional ceramic flowers mounted on an elegantly shaped wooden backplate. The combination of warm wood, dark green velvet, gold-toned cord, and colorful roses gives this piece a distinctly romantic Mid-Century appearance. At the center is a generous bouquet of hand-formed and glazed ceramic flowers. The composition comprises several roses in soft pinks, creams, and yellows, combined with small deep-blue blossoms and glossy green leaves. The multitude of individually modeled petals creates a beautiful relief that clearly comes forward from the background. The bouquet is mounted on an elongated oval patch of olive-green ribbed velvet, edged with a twisted gold-colored decorative cord. Surrounding this is the decoratively shaped wooden backboard with warm brownish wood grain and a dark profiled outer edge. In the tradition of Italian Capodimonte floral decorations This type of wall ornament was especially popular in the 1960s and 1970s. Similar Italian wall plaques from this period combine hand-formed ceramic or porcelain flowers with a velvet background and gold-toned cord finish. They are most commonly described as Capodimonte or Capodimonte-style wall decorations. There are documented examples from the 1960s with porcelain flowers on green velvet and Italian origin. Also with other similar pieces from around the 1960s, the characteristic elements recur: three-dimensional roses, a fabric or velvet background, and a decorative gold-colored trim. In this piece, no factory mark or signature is visible in the available photos. Therefore it is intentionally not offered as an officially marked Capodimonte object. However, the execution clearly aligns with this Italian decorative tradition. A dating around 1960–1970 is plausible based on style and comparison with similar pieces.
