David Law Artist Photographer – Creator of contemporary images Multidisciplinary photographer artist, author and musician, David Law develops a body of work centered on gaze, presence and the perception of the image in urban space. He first became known through a series devoted to storefront mannequins, integrated into the city through a subtle play of reflections and superpositions. This exploration of gaze and presence gave birth to an art book published in 2021. Subsequently intrigued by the singular aesthetics of collectible dolls and Japanese figurines, he extends this reflection by staging them in the streets of Paris and other European capitals. Through framing, light and composition, these inanimate models acquire a striking, almost living presence, challenging our relationship to illusion and projection. New series – Echo Waves / Echo Visions - A new reading of cultural icons The Echo Waves / Echo Visions series offers a contemporary rereading of cultural icons through an immersive and vibrant pop art aesthetic. Each work rests on a mosaic construction composed of thousands of micro-graphic compositions. From a distance, the image reveals a recognizable figure, while up close it reveals a richness of visual details. Each fragment acts like a “wave,” evoking the artistic universe of the subject depicted. The creation process is long and demanding, requiring precision and mastery of graphic tools. A thorough effort is made on colors, light and the overall harmony of the image. Everything is created in an original and independent manner. Edition & Manufacture Each work is offered in a limited edition of 8 numbered copies + 4 artist proofs (A.P.), signed by the artist and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. The prints are made on aluminum with integrated rear mounting. Printing on luminous white vinyl, contrecollé between two aluminum plates, with flexible UV and humidity-resistant lamination, guaranteeing excellent durability, great long-term resistance, color stability and a modern, contemporary rendering. Parcours Since 2014, David Law participates in around twenty Contemporary Art fairs per year in France and Europe. He is also the appointed photographer and videographer for several organizers of contemporary art fairs. In parallel with his visual activity, he develops authorial work and music including 3 novels, a collection of short stories, a comic book, a photobook and 5 self-produced CDs. A singer-guitarist, he currently performs with the group FRENZY.
