David Law Photographer-Artist – Creator of contemporary images A multidisciplinary photographer-artist, author and musician, David Law develops work centered on looking, presence and the perception of image in urban space. He first became known for a series devoted to shop window mannequins, integrated into the city through a subtle play of reflections and superpositions. This exploration of gaze and presence gave rise to an art book published in 2021. Later intrigued by the singular aesthetics of collectible dolls and Japanese figurines, he extends this reflection by staging them in the streets of Paris and other European capitals. Through framing, light and composition, these inanimate subjects acquire a troubling, almost living presence, challenging our relationship to illusion and projection. New Series – Walls of Legends This series pays tribute to iconic figures who have left their mark on history, music, cinema and pop culture. Each portrait, reduced to essentials, captures in a few bold contrasts an instantly recognizable identity. Created with contemporary digital tools and then transposed into a stencil aesthetic, the works align with the street art tradition, between spontaneity and mastery of gesture. Deep black and raw surfaces evoke direct intervention on the wall, while imperfections and textures reinforce their urban character. Between collective memory and visual expression, this series offers a timeless reading of icons that continue to inhabit our imagination. Edition & Manufacture Each work is offered in a limited edition of 8 numbered copies + 4 artist's proofs (A.P.), signed by the artist and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. The prints are produced on aluminum with integrated rear mounting. Printed on luminous white vinyl, mounted between two aluminum panels, with flexible UV- and humidity-resistant lamination, ensuring excellent durability, lasting color stability and a modern, contemporary rendering. Background Since 2014, David Law has participated in around twenty contemporary art fairs per year in France and Europe. He is also the designated photographer and videographer for several organizers of contemporary art fairs. Parallel to his visual activity, he develops a writer and musician career including 3 novels, a collection of short stories, a graphic novel, a photo book and 5 self-produced CDs. A singer-guitarist, he currently performs with the group FRENZY.
