Special Series Crypto Rock - Recreating a photo using the artist’s images. David Law Artist Photographer – Creator of contemporary images Multidisciplinary photographic artist, author and musician, David Law develops work centered on gaze, presence and the perception of the image in urban space. He first gained recognition with a series devoted to storefront mannequins, integrated into the city through a subtle play of reflections and superimpositions. This exploration of gaze and presence gave birth to an art book published in 2021. Later, drawn by the singular aesthetics of collectible dolls and Japanese figurines, he continues this reflection by staging them in the streets of Paris and other European capitals. Through framing, light and composition, these inanimate models acquire a troubling, almost living presence, questioning our relationship to illusion and projection. New Series – Echo Waves / Echo Visions - A new reading of cultural icons The Echo Waves / Echo Visions series offers a contemporary rereading of cultural icons through an immersive and vibrant pop art aesthetics. Each work rests on a mosaic construction made up of thousands of micro-graphic compositions. From afar, the image reveals a recognizable figure, while up close it reveals a wealth of visual details. Each fragment acts as a “wave”, evoking the artistic universe of the subject depicted. The creation process is long and demanding, requiring precision and mastery of graphic tools. Extensive work is carried out on colors, light and the overall harmony of the image. Everything is created in an original and independent manner. Edition & Manufacturing Each work is offered in a limited edition of 8 numbered copies + 4 artist’s proofs (A.P.), signed by the artist and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. The prints are produced on aluminum with a built-in rear mounting. Printing on luminous white vinyl, mounted between two aluminum plates, with soft UV- and humidity-resistant lamination, ensuring excellent durability, long-term color stability, and a modern, contemporary finish. Profile Since 2014, David Law has participated in about twenty contemporary art fairs per year in France and Europe. He is also the official photographer and videographer for several organizers of contemporary art fairs. In parallel with his visual activity, he develops a body of work as author and musician, including 3 novels, a collection of short stories, a graphic novel, a photo book and 5 self-produced CDs. A singer-guitarist, he is currently performing with the group FRENZY.
