David Law Photographer-Artist – Creator of contemporary images Multidisciplinary photographer-artist, author and musician, David Law develops work focused on gaze, presence and the perception of images in urban space. He first made a name for himself with a series devoted to storefront mannequins, integrated into the city through a subtle play of reflections and superimpositions. This exploration of gaze and presence gave rise to an art book published in 2021. Intrigued by the singular aesthetics of collectible dolls and Japanese figurines, he extends this reflection by staging them in the streets of Paris and other European capitals. Through framing, light and composition, these inanimate models acquire a troubling, almost lifelike presence, challenging our relationship to illusion and projection. New series – Walls of legends This series pays tribute to iconic figures who marked history, music, cinema and popular culture. Each portrait, reduced to the essentials, captures in a few powerful contrasts an identity immediately recognizable. Realized with contemporary digital tools and then transposed into a stencilled aesthetic, the works belong to the street art tradition, between spontaneity and mastery of the gesture. Deep black and raw surfaces evoke direct intervention on the wall, while imperfections and textures reinforce their urban character. Between collective memory and visual expression, this series offers a timeless reading of icons who continue to inhabit our imagination. Edition & Manufacturing Each work is offered in a limited edition of 8 numbered copies + 4 artist proofs (A.P.), signed by the artist and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. The prints are made on aluminum with a built-in back mounting. Printed on luminous white vinyl, pressed between two aluminum plates, with a soft UV- and humidity-resistant laminate, guaranteeing excellent durability, long-term stability of colors, and a modern, contemporary look. Career Since 2014, David Law has participated in about twenty Contemporary Art fairs per year in France and Europe. He is also the appointed photographer and videographer for several organizers of contemporary art fairs. Parallel to his visual activity, he develops a body of work as an author and musician including 3 novels, a collection of short stories, a comic book, a photo book and 5 self-produced CDs. A singer-guitarist, he currently performs with the band FRENZY.
