Description of the work The last touch is a unique work created in 2026 by the Italian artist Daphne HRC, in which graphic-digital language and manual painting intervention come together to give life to a composition with a strong material and visual presence. The piece arises from the layering of different expressive levels: a graphic-digital base is reinterpreted through manual acrylic interventions with textured, relief-like finishes, creating a dialogue between the precision of the image and the gestural painting. Executed with mixed media on 100% cotton canvas of 320 g/m², The last touch measures 60 × 40 cm and presents itself as a unique piece, expression of Daphne HRC's artistic research. The canvas is sold directly by the artist and is accompanied by an authenticity certificate, guaranteeing its uniqueness and provenance. Technique and language The work starts from a graphic drawing - fusing various digital resources and exploring different artistic techniques (Photoshop, Procreate, AI resources) - transferred to canvas, then subjected to manual interventions with acrylic paint. The coexistence of the graphic line and the painting material makes the process of building the image legible and relates two different expressive modalities: the design precision of drawing and the gestural freedom of painting. The process places the piece in a contemporary dimension, where the image is not simply reproduced, but filtered, modified and reinterpretated through the stratification of languages. Interpretation The work offers a contemporary rereading of one of the most recognizable images in art history: the famous gesture of fingers from Michelangelo’s Creation of Adam in the Sistine Chapel. At the center of the composition, a woman reaches her arm toward a cyborg while, around the two figures, a multitude of human beings and robotic entities are arranged in a nearly mirror-like structure. The moment of the fingers' approach constitutes the symbolic core of the work. In the Michelangelesque composition, the gesture represents the meeting of man and God and the transmission of life; here the relationship is radically reversed: man extends his hand toward a new artificial entity, of his own making, to which he risks attributing the role once reserved for the divine. In this way, the work introduces a reflection on the risk of divinizing artificial intelligence: the gesture of the fingers does not necessarily seal a harmonious encounter and can be read as the moment preceding a possible, unsettling, transfer of power. Artist Daphne HRC’s artistic path stems from training at an art high school and continues with studies at the Academy of Fine Arts of Perugia, where she developed a personal, continually evolving research that has allowed her to enter the local art circuit with public and critical praise. Her research arises from the encounter between digital design, surface and material: each composition is conceived and drawn personally and then transformed into a physical work through manual and tactile interventions. The image is not the end goal, but the beginning of a process in which matter, light and surface contribute to making each work unique. Each work is signed and documented by the artist and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. The work is carefully wrapped in bubble wrap and protective film, as well as insured in a custom cardboard box for transport to ensure maximum protection. The authentic hand-signed certificate by the artist is included inside the package. Some images may show the work placed in illustrative settings to facilitate viewing in different contexts or with different framing solutions. The proportions are consistent with the actual dimensions of the work. Upcoming events: Perugia - December 2026 Ancona - February 2027 Belluno - May 2027 INSTAGRAM: Daphnehrc_art
