Engraved in the brass on the sundial is "Gilbert & Sons London". Inside the lid there is a copper plate with the historical “Equation of Time” table (Should be faster than the dial / slow / slower), used to calculate the difference between solar time and clock time. Equipped with adjustment screws and a folding degree arc/u-ring marked with Roman numerals. This sundial has an integrated compass with a beautiful nameplate that again refers to Gilbert & Sons London (1895). The wooden box has a gorgeous warm wood grain, brass hinges, and protects the compass perfectly. Ideal as a stylish gift, for collectors of nautical instruments, or as an eye-catching piece in a vintage/classic interior! The sundial compass measures when opened to 10 cm in height and has a diameter of 10 cm. The nice box with a copper plate and green felt measures 12.5 x 12.5 cm, height 5 cm.
