Colorado, Texas. $20 1929 Ty. 1. Fr. 1802-1. City NB. Charter #5276. PCGS Banknote Very Fine 20. Evenly circulated in technical terms by virtue of the grade assigned. This T1 $20 issued by the City National Bank of Colorado (Charter# 5276) is nonetheless a significant item viewed through the lens of the numismatic calculus. Here on this specific bank, the National Bank Note Census records a paltry total of 13 non-institutional notes where this example represents the lowest serial number seen among the surviving T1 $20s. Yet this consideration is hardly more than a tertiary one as auction records imply that surviving notes on this institution are fiercely contested when they do appear at auction in a public context suggesting that bidders will likely pursue this note with a degree of anticipation that will ultimately culminate in a strong realization. Estimate: $1,000 - $1,500. Provenance: From the Jack Copeland Currency Collection, Part IV. Click here for certification details from PCGS Banknote.
