Set of 4 Brass Antique Coat Hook Medallions – Neoclassical Style (Arethusa Nymph) - 1930s/1950s Decorative medallions/bosses for coat hooks, originally salvaged from an antique hat rack or entryway cabinet. The medallions feature fine relief work on a finely hammered background. The decorative design reproduces the iconic classical profile of the Arethusa nymph, clearly inspired by the famous ancient coinage of Syracuse’s decadramas (Grand Tour/Neoclassical style). • Material: Solid brass / Light bronze with a beautiful original patina from the era. • Era: About 1930s - 1950s. • Origin: Italy / European manufacture. • Diameter: 10.5 cm each. • Condition: Generally excellent vintage condition. The metal surface shows natural and charming signs of time that attest to its authenticity. • Mounting: Three of the four medallions are complete with their original rear mounting pins, ready to be installed on wood or wall. One medallion is missing a pin, but it can be easily replaced with a standard threaded rod from a hardware store.
