The company is known for having introduced electroplating with gilding and silver plating in France in 1842. The company was acquired in 2012 by one of its shareholders, the Chalhoub family luxury group. The House of Christofle relies on entirely handmade production following traditional techniques. This irreplaceable human know-how is perpetuated by highly skilled artisans.
