This branch was formed in June 1927, and the head office in Guangzhou allocated one million yuan to back the branch in issuing its own banknotes. The $1 and $5 are the only issued notes known to date, and this $5 is one of just four graded by PMG to date and is the SINGLE HIGHEST graded example. Very rare. PMG Comments "Paper Pulls." Estimate: $800 - $1,200. Provenance: From the Renaissance Collection of Central Bank of China. 民國十二年中央銀行伍圓。 北海地名。北海分行成立於1927年6月，廣州總行撥款100萬元作為該行發行專用紙鈔之儲備金。迄今為止僅見壹圓及伍圓流通票存世，本伍圓為 PMG 迄今僅評四張之一，且為唯一冠軍分。極罕。PMG備註"紙張揭薄"。
