PMG Choice Uncirculated 64. Printed by BWC. This is an impressive Pei-Yang Colour Trial, in orange, yellow, and olive colours. This 3 Taels note boasts olive green dragons that face each other toward the top of the note. Between them in a porthole is a portrait of Li Hong Zhang, statesman, general and diplomat of the Qing dynasty. Fully uncirculated, with the very faintest of minor spotting barely visible to the naked eye, and noticed only under extreme scrutiny, hiding toward the edges of the note. We sold this exact note in April 2024 for $33,600 including the Buyer's Premium. A unique opportunity for one of the most heavily collected Tientsin notes in a special colour variation. Believed to be unique.
