Chest of drawers - Walnut - Antique Canterano Chest of Drawers

Important and Rare 17th-Century Piedmontese Carved Walnut Chest, Hand-Carved Solid Walnut Important and rare Italian sideboard of Piedmontese origin, dating to the 17th century, crafted entirely in solid walnut wood, finely hand-carved and preserved in its first patina. A antique piece with great charm and presence, featuring a solid and imposing structure, expression of Piedmontese cabinetmaking tradition of the Seicento. The front features four large and capacious drawers, richly decorated with elegant relief carvings, characterized by shaped frames, curved ornamental motifs and refined sculptural details. Each drawer is adorned with central escutcheon openings and metal gilded handles, creating a pleasant contrast with the warm, intense tone of the antique walnut. The upper surface, wide and slightly overhanging, presents an elegant perimeter molding, while the side uprights are enriched with vertical frames. The lower part is completed by a robust shaped base, which provides further solidity and harmony to the entire structure. Particularly interesting is the internal construction of the drawers, with solid wood elements and traditional workmanship, testimony to the artisanal techniques of the era. The first patina preserves the natural signs of time and use, contributing to enhance the authentic and historic character of the piece. A canterano of considerable decorative importance, with generous proportions and particularly elaborate carvings, ideal for furnishing living rooms, entrances, historic houses, or prestigious environments. A piece with great personality, capable of representing a central element within any collection of antique furniture.
