Celtic Bronze Openwork Harness Fitting – 3rd to 1st Century BC A Celtic bronze openwork harness fitting of Late La Tène tradition, cast in a distinctive geometric form with a large circular central opening, a smaller perforated terminal above and a rectangular openwork section below. This type of bronze fitting is associated with Celtic horse equipment and chariot harness assemblages, where openwork elements served both decorative and practical functions. The piece preserves a pale green archaeological patina with mineral deposits and surface wear consistent with age and prolonged burial. Comparable Celtic harness fittings and terrets are known from the final centuries BC into the early Roman period.
